The morning sun etched the leaves of the elms in front of our house into my earliest memory. Later I was enthralled by Claude-Lorraines, Turners and the scenes of N.C. Wyeth’s illustrations. So landscapes took priority whan I started.
The Blue Landscape (1965) and Vision of Troy (1966) are directly from my young imagination.
When I came back to painting after a commercial art career, I was living in a beautiful place full of mature trees. That led to the Loch Alpine Series which makes up much of this gallery. They led to the four barn portrait commissions.
